Hi all,
I am joining this forum because my husband bought a Mini a few months ago and since then people keep asking us why. They want to know how come we bought "Such an expensive car"...I feel like we need to apologize all the time for having purchased a Mini!
Did this also happen to you after you got your Mini? Do you have the same problem with your friends and what do you tell them?
Hope to hear your opinions, Thanks

I'm really sad and sorry to say that some people just have no boundaries. How much you decide to splurge on your car is really none of their concern.
I think every mini driver gets that same line from a couple of tactless friends who obviously aren't savoir faire. However, you need to chin up, realise that you are buying a car that has character and a feisty spirit. In that same spirit, never apologise for being self-indulgent.
3 reasons for buying the car: 1) Because I can. 2) I love me. 3) I love to drive and not be driven.
Meanwhile, happy motoring.

I have to say that my friends have had only nice things to say when they know I bought a MINI. In fact, kids love it.
Don't apologise. You don't need to. And accept that your friends are not perfect

So sorry Ms Pauline, Got to borrow what you started. Me new in this forum can start my own, unfortunately just want to share my sentiment too.
Me also planning for a mini cooper because of the size. Maybe the one things that stop me is the price. But I sure like the size like it's brand "Mini". Because the parking lot is very small in my estate. Don't understand why but it's the fact.
My friend also ask me why not take a BM, the price are close. And it's more spacious and brand is there. What stopping me is that people tend to litter bugs meaning just dump things out of the window. My existing car had got a "Vampire Bite" on the top. He... He... He...
Anyway sure hope that I can join you guys in the crowd soon.
Cheers
